The objective
Fusion Lifestyle aimed to upgrade and refurbish its gym and studio spaces, ensuring state-of-the-art technology was seamlessly integrated into new and existing facilities. The goal was to enhance the member experience, support gym and studio equipment installations, and create immersive environments that set Fusion apart in the market.

Southwark Leisure
The objective
Refurbish and modernise seven leisure centres across the London Borough of Southwark — within a strict budget and nine-week window — delivering a consistent look and feel while respecting the heritage constraints of listed buildings.
What we delivered
- Strategic Planning & Project ManagementA clear roadmap was established to meet the Christmas 2024 deadline, with a focus on planning, subcontractor coordination, and lead time management.
- Redecoration & FlooringFull redecoration and new flooring across all sites, implementing a consistent colour scheme throughout the estate.
- Scope Adjustments & Added ValueElectrics and demolition were incorporated as added-value elements, ensuring sites were fully equipped for new equipment layouts.
- Heritage ConsiderationsThe Dulwich and Camberwell sites, both listed buildings, required careful navigation of English Heritage requirements while preserving the original Victorian aesthetic.
- Brand Consistency & ComplianceWorking within brand guidelines and signage regulations, Forma Solutions ensured a unified approach across all seven sites.
- Major Works & Custom SolutionsKey structural elements including staircases required bespoke solutions balancing practical and aesthetic considerations.

We partnered with Forma Solutions for the refurbishment of six of our seven gyms. This was a project widely regarded as the most challenging programme of works any of the numerous contractors or equipment partners had been involved in. The objective
With multiple sites and thousands of users, the University needed a long-term partner to consistently deliver high-performance flooring, custom lighting, and reliable project delivery across refurbishments, extensions, and new builds.
What we delivered
- David Ross Sports Village — Flooring & Lighting Advised on and installed flooring during a major gym expansion to a new upper-floor space. Following early issues, Forma Solutions was invited back to install a revised solution that has performed reliably for over seven years. A zoned lighting upgrade also created a more dynamic and engaging environment for users.
- Jubilee Sports Centre — Flooring & Lighting Delivered a full flooring solution across gym and functional areas designed to withstand high footfall. After five years, only tiles with painted markings needed replacing — a testament to the durability of materials chosen. Functional lighting upgrades were also introduced to boost energy, visibility, and class engagement.

Be Well, Wigan Council
The objective
Be Well, Wigan Council aimed to upgrade gym and studio facilities across two large-scale refurbishments — creating a modern, immersive fitness environment to improve the member experience, boost retention, and expand group exercise offerings through cutting-edge AV and virtual fitness solutions.
What we delivered
- Audio-Visual & IT InfrastructureA tailored AV system for the Cycle Studio, Main Studio, and Gym Area, with additional power, data, and coax installations to support new layouts and CV equipment. Discreet low-level trunking ensured a seamless finish.
- Cycle Studio EnhancementLes Mills Virtual was integrated with the existing projector and screen. Dynamic lighting — including four wall chevrons and ceiling-hung runs — created a world-class cycling experience, with a wall-mounted controller allowing instructors to adjust pre-set lighting patterns or activate sound-to-light mode.
- Main Gym UpgradeWarm hanging lights were added to the free-weight area to refresh the space and boost retention. Custom sound-to-light square lights enhanced the functional training zone, while feature wall battens provided dynamic effects and atmosphere throughout.
Client feedback
The upgrades have delivered outstanding results, significantly improving the overall atmosphere, functionality, and user experience. Member feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, and the investment has translated into significant growth — Howe Bridge membership increased by c.300 since July 2024, and Leigh membership grew by c.100 since December 2024.
Andy fully understood our needs from the outset and provided invaluable advice to help us achieve our goals. His flexible approach minimised disruption, and close daily project management ensured deadlines were met. The transformation has been a huge success.

Mountbatten Leisure Centre
The objective
Following a new 10-year operating contract with Portsmouth City Council, BH Live committed to modernising its flagship fitness facility at Mountbatten Leisure Centre, creating an environment that reflects the quality of the investment and supports the next generation of member experiences.
What we delivered
- Flooring SystemsLuxury Vinyl Tile, high-performance engineered rubber flooring, and premium synthetic turf transformed the floor into a purposeful training environment, with each finish helping to create a cohesive, contemporary member experience.
- Feature LightingDated light fittings were replaced by circular fittings suspended above the gym floor, delivering high-lumen white light and a brighter, more inviting training environment. Feature and effect lighting adds atmosphere as the gym evolves throughout the day and evening.
- Electrical Upgrades & InfrastructureIntegrated electrical upgrades alongside data and cable infrastructure future-proofed the space, supporting the wider refurbishment programme and ensuring the facility was ready for the next decade of operation.
- Programme ManagementWorking alongside multiple specialist contractors simultaneously within a live leisure environment, Forma Solutions coordinated its works to keep the three-week programme on track and ensure the facility reopened on schedule.
